When cleaning is not enough: sewer line repair in Aubrey and Denton County
Cleaning a line removes what is inside it. It does not fix a pipe that is cracked, shifted, or filled with roots. When a sewer line fails, the signs keep coming back, and at some point the repair is the only thing that stops it. Vor-Tex Plumbing Co. repairs sewer lines for homes in Aubrey and the surrounding towns. We locate the damaged section, explain what is wrong in plain words, and give you the price before we start. For a simple blockage, see drain and sewer line cleaning. This page is part of our drain and sewer services.
Signs the line itself is damaged
- Drains clog again within weeks of being cleared.
- Several fixtures back up together, then clear, then back up again.
- A sewage smell in the yard or near the foundation.
- A sunken strip of lawn or a soggy patch with no rain or irrigation to explain it.
- Gurgling in toilets or tubs when another fixture drains.
- Unusually green or fast-growing grass over one stretch of yard.
- Rodents or insects showing up near drains or the cleanout.
What damages a sewer line
Most failures come down to a handful of causes.
- Roots. They enter at joints and cracks, then thicken until they block the flow or split the pipe.
- Shifted or separated joints. Soil movement can pull sections of pipe out of line, which leaves a lip where solids catch.
- A low spot, or belly. If part of the pipe settles, water pools there and waste does not carry through.
- Cracks and collapse. Older cast iron and clay pipe can corrode or break. Plastic pipe can crack from heavy loads or poor bedding.
- Damage from digging. A fence post, a tree planting, or a trench for another utility can hit the line.
How we find out what is wrong
- We ask where and when you notice the problem, and which fixtures are affected.
- We trace the line to see where the trouble starts, including whether it is on your property or past it.
- We tell you what we found: a cracked section, roots, a sag, or a joint problem, and roughly where it sits.
- We give you repair options with the price for each, and explain what it means for your yard, driveway, or slab.
What a repair can involve
Depending on what we find, the fix may be replacing a damaged section of pipe, correcting a sag, or replacing a longer run if the whole line is failing. The amount of digging depends on how deep the pipe is and what is above it, such as lawn, a driveway, or a patio. If the problem is under the house, we explain how that changes the work. We do not push the largest job. If a smaller repair solves the problem, we say so.
